Tamsin Greenway revealed plans to take a break from netball after winning a fourth Grand Final in succession, and second with Wasps

Tamsin Greenway has confirmed she will step down as Wasps director of netball having secured their second successive Grand Final victory on Saturday.

Greenway will step aside after two years of unprecedented success at Wasps while the 55-51 victory over Lightning gave her a fourth Superleague title in succession.

"That's it for me as a player and as a coach for a little while. I will still be involved with Wasps but I have given 15 years of my life to my sport, probably more and I just need some time, I have just won four in a row," she said.

"Mentally the last few years have been a real struggle for me and I want to take some time out.

"We will see how things work out but it's time for other people to step up and for me to see what else there is in netball.

"I love this team and I made a commitment, I love coaching and I will still be involved but it will look different and for me that means playing too as no other coach will pick me."

"I am so proud of them, they were fantastic but it's a different emotion to last year," she added

"I told them to play like they were not scared to lose and it looked like that. Everyone said how chilled we were and how relaxed we were but we knew if we stuck to our tasks, almost for 60 minutes."

"A big loss for them was Beth Cobden who is an outstanding world-class player - that was a hole for them in the defensive end.

"But our attacking turnover was big, Rach [Dunn] got player of the match and that was for finding a way to work out Shamera Sterling.

"The last quarter showed what players can do and what needs to happen going forward."
