Laura Malcolm has re-joined Manchester Thunder from Severn Stars ahead of the Vitality Netball Superleague 2019 season.

The former England international left Thunder in 2017 for a move to one of the league's new franchises but is now back at the club where she played throughout her youth and later senior career.

Malcolm, 27, was part of Thunder's 2014 VNSL title-winning squad and becomes head coach Karen Greig's first signing ahead of the new campaign.

Thunder lost to Loughborough Lightning in the semi-finals last term and Malcolm is excited by the opportunity to return to a familiar setting.

"It's a brilliant move for me back to Thunder," said Malcolm, who helped Stars to sixth place in their inaugural campaign.

"I enjoyed my time at Severn Stars but it's going to be exciting to get back to playing in front of Thunder fans who make the most noise.

"Working with Karen Greig again was also a big draw for me. She's a top coach and a great motivator."
