England Roses’ Serena Guthrie has likened the series against Uganda to next year’s Netball World Cup.
The Roses won 50-46 on Tuesday and will play the second of three games against Uganda on Friday, live on Sky Sports Mix at 6.45pm.
Guthrie is hoping that a successful series will springboard England into the World Cup on home soil which begins next July on Sky Sports.
"We want to be in the final in eight months' time and the crowd was a little snippet of what it might be like," said Guthrie who was player of the match on Tuesday against Uganda.
"We've never had a target on our backs before and we're still getting used to it. It's a tough position to be in."
England head coach Tracey Neville said: "We have to play a different style of game against the African style and our concentration just isn't there. That's what we need to build on over these next two tests.
"Some of these girls have not won since the Quad Series so that's a big positive. It's hard to win, and it's hard to get from losing to winning."
England's three-match series with Uganda continues on Friday with coverage underway on Sky Sports Mix from 6.45pm and Arena from 7pm. You can also watch the full version of Peace Proscovia: Netball in Uganda which is available On Demand right now.
