Surrey Storm have been crowned 2015 Netball Superleague champions after beating Hertfordshire Mavericks 56-36 at London's Copper Box Arena.
Tamsin Greenway's side, who have been runners-up on three previous occasions, were dominant throughout the match delivering when it mattered and playing with composure.
From the opening exchanges Storm were the more consistent team with Greenway dictating the game from Wing Attack. While Mavericks' Corbin sisters Sasha and Kadeen entertained the near 6000 spectators their class with some flamboyant ball delivery and stylish shots.
Yet it was Surrey that edged in front, producing fewer errors and applying better defensive pressure. At the end of the first quarter Storm had a three goal advantage 13-10.
Despite the cool head of Mavericks shooter Louisa Watson, further unforced errors in the second quarter meant Storm extended their lead further 26-20
At the half-time break Mavericks coach Sam Bird took off tenacious Goal Keeper Naida Hutchinson and replaced her with Lindsay Keable. The change didn't pay off, with Storm shooter Rachel Dunn and Player of the Match Pamela Cookey finding more space in circle and punishing the slightest of Mavericks errors.
By the final quarter Storm were dominant, controlling their game as the Hertfordshire players' heads went down. Surrey Storm head back to Guildford 2015 Netball Superleague champions.
