The Chicago Bears have named Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as their new head coach.
Nagy's entire NFL coaching career has been spent working alongside Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, starting as an intern with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and then following him to Kansas City in 2013.
He replaces John Fox, who was fired after a third successive losing season - he compiled a 14-34 record in his time in charge of the Bears.
Nagy, 39, was a record-breaking quarterback in college at Delaware and played six seasons in the Arena Football League.
His first major sideline role came when he moved to the Chiefs with Reid, who named him quarterbacks coach, and Reid then promoted Nagy to offensive coordinator in 2016.
Nagy's offense ranked sixth in the NFL this season, but the Chiefs' campaign came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten 22-21 by the Tennessee Titans in their AFC Wildcard Round clash at Arrowhead Stadium.
He also oversaw the best season of Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith's career, who had a QB rating of over 100 for only the second time in 13 years, throwing 26 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
Nagy will be looking to significantly improve a Bears offense which ranked 29th in points, 30th in total yards and last in passing yards under rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
