The incredible Super Saturday from London 2012 has a chance to re-live itself four years on with Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Greg Rutherford returning in Rio.
The athletics takes centre stage on Saturday in Brazil with the long jump final contested first, with reigning champion Rutherford aiming to defend his title.
The men's 10,000m final follows, affording Farah the chance to add another gold to his prizes from London. And finally, the 800m rounds off the women's heptathlon with Ennis-Hill facing competition from GB team-mate Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

More than Farah, Ennis-Hill and Rutherford?
Rebecca James and Katy Marchant are involved in the women's cycling keirin consolation final and GB's women's hockey team play the United States. In swimming, Great Britain are underdogs in the men's 4x100m medley relay.
And Andy Murray will be back on court in the men's tennis semi-finals, he faces Kei Nishikori for a place in the gold medal match as he bids to retain the title he won at London 2012.
Going for gold
Michael Phelps, still unsatisfied despite swelling his unrivalled record of gold medals from 19 to 22 during Rio 2016, aims for another in an event he is expected to win. Phelps and his United States team-mates compete in the medley relay.
The women's tennis champion will be confirmed - Puerto Rico's Monica Puig will face Angelique Kerber in the gold medal match.
Puig, who has already seen off Garbine Muguruza beat Petra Kvitova in her semi-final while Kerber was a straight sets winner over Madison Keys.
