Great Britain set to field five-man team

Mark Cavendish is among 148 names listed for next weekend's Olympic road race test event. The 26-year-old from the Isle of Man is poised to start the London Surrey Cycle Classic in the five-man Great Britain team, as he steps up his preparations for the Olympics next summer. The August 14 race is also set to feature trade teams, with Olympic team pursuit champion Ed Clancy slated to ride for Rapha-Condor-Sharp. Cavendish, who won the Tour de France's green jersey last month, will be aiming to win Olympic gold on July 28, the opening day of the Games next summer, and this month's event will feature a number of the other favourites - including Tyler Farrar of the United States and Australia's Matt Goss.
