Temi Fagbenle has been named in Team GB's squad for the women's basketball competition at the Olympics.
Team GB name inexperienced squad for this summer's Games
Emerging talent Temi Fagbenle was among a group of 12 players selected to represent Great Britain in the women's basketball competition at the London 2012 Olympics.
Fagbenle spent last year with the Under-20s but has been fast-tracked to the senior side ahead of this summer's Games.
The 19-year-old forward has been forced to sit out her first season at Harvard University in the United States because of an academic rule, but the Baltimore-born player has made the cut.
The team announcement comes in a week when Britain defeated the Czech Republic, a team who are ranked 45 places above them in the world rankings in fourth.
Delighted
Tom Maher, GB senior women's head coach, said: "We are delighted to be able to announce that we have picked our team and really think it is the right mix of players that will represent Great Britain in the appropriate way."
Britain qualified for the EuroBasket tournament for the first time in 2011 and have recently beaten South Korea, Argentina and Canada, all ranked above them, in the build-up to the Olympic tournament.
Britain are due to play preparatory matches against Angola, Australia and France in Sheffield before meeting reigning gold medallists the USA in Manchester.
Speaking at the announcement, Team GB chef de mission Andy Hunt said: "The progress that British Basketball has made over the past five years is remarkable and the British women have already proven that they can punch well above their weight with a number of victories over higher-ranked opponents.
"London 2012 presents a fabulous opportunity for the women's team to showcase British basketball to a new generation of sports fans."
