Elise Christie endured more final heartache as she suffered a fall at the short-track World Cup competition in Shanghai.
The Briton lost her footing on the second lap of the 500 metre event in China and finished 31 seconds behind home winner Kexin Fan, Canada's Marianne St-Giles and South Korean Alang Kim.
Christie had qualified second fastest for the final as she sought a first podium placing of the season.
The 24-year-old has only just returned to action after controversy and misfortune cost her the chance of medals at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Christie contemplated retirement after three disqualifications and two falls in her Olympic events after going into the competition as one of the favourites for gold.
