Red Box is in line for a possible tilt at the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown next month.

A rise in class looks upon the horizon following her recent Listed success at Ascot, with the Group Three prize on August 20 earmarked as a potential target.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained three-year-old was awarded the Valiant Stakes in the stewards' room after she initially finished second to first-past-the-post Namhroodah, whose connections have appealed against her demotion into third place.

Chris Richardson, managing director to Red Box's owners Cheveley Park Stud, said: "I thought we had a chance of possibly finishing third.

"It was a sad way to win, but our luck appears to be in at the moment.

"It was very encouraging for the family and she ran all the way to the line. She deserved that as she has been consistent.

"She has had three quick runs now so we will probably give her a little break then bring her back.

"I've got to speak with Sir Mark, while we have a lot of fillies to juggle about.

"The Atalanta Stakes at Sandown could be a possibility."
