Hopes are high for a profitable five-year-old campaign with Zawraq.
The highly-rated colt made a perfectly satisfactory return from an absence of 560 days when second to Flying Fairies in a Listed race at Leopardstown on Sunday.
That was just a third career outing for the son of Shamardal, and first since his victory over Endless Drama in the 2,000 Guineas Trial in April last year, also at Leopardstown.
Weld indicated afterwards he would be recommending Zawraq stays in training.
Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: "I haven't spoken to Dermot since Monday, but I believe he came out of the race well.
"We were pleased he ran a good race and we are obviously hoping to see him next season, but we don't want to look too far ahead.
"With a horse like him we take it day by day."
