Cyrus Darius is likely to make his comeback over the festive period for Malcolm Jefferson.

A top-class hurdler who won a Grade Two at Aintree by 10 lengths in 2015, he has been off the track since winning his first novice chase at Perth in September last year.

He only scrambled home that day and it later transpired he suffered an injury which has since put him on the sidelines.

"I'm very happy with him," said Jefferson.

"Every week now he's doing something a bit stronger and everything is going well.

"I'd hope to be getting him out about Christmas, but I haven't looked for a race yet.

"Because he's already won over fences he's difficult to place, so it might be that he comes back over hurdles."
