We have a busy day’s racing on Tuesday with All-Weather action from Newcastle and Southwell, live on Sky Sports Racing.

3.55 Southwell - Mr Nugget seeks another all-weather success

A max field of 12 go to post in the opening race at Southwell on Tuesday in the Bet £10 Get £40 With Betmgm Handicap over the mile and David Simcock saddles Mr Nugget who will be pursuing another success on the all-weather.

After dropping back in trip from 12 furlongs, this son of Oasis Dream justified favouritism to score at Wolverhampton three starts back and followed that up with another win over the same course and distance before being denied the hat-trick by a head seven days ago. The five-year-old comes here off the same mark as last-time-out and will be looking for a third win this year.

Mark Loughnane's Studious may prove to be the biggest danger to Sean Levey's mount after running to a consistently high level recently, most notably only going down by three-quarters of a length to winning machine Aisling Oscar 19 days ago.

Forest Caper also hit the post last time out for David O'Meara when sent off favourite for that contest at Newcastle and he drops back in trip here in his bid to go one better.

Panama Black, Cephalus and David O'Meara's other runner Rajapour are others to note.

5.12 Newcastle - 750,000gns Domenico Contarini debuts for Amo

An exciting novice stakes takes place in the penultimate race at Newcastle on Tuesday in the Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Novice Stakes over the mile. Kevin Philippart De Foy saddles Domenico Contarini who was a 750,000gns breeze-up purchase by Amo Racing last year and it will be intriguing to see how this St Mark's Basilica colt can fair on debut here.

Also See:

Andrew Balding saddles Exmoor who himself went for 380,000gns as a yearling and this son of Farhh finished sixth on his only run so far in a hot maiden at Kempton that has history of producing top-quality horses, such as Notable Speech and Opera Ballo.

Midsummer Storm is another interesting debutant for Karl Burke and Wathnan. This Night Of Thunder colt went for €550,000 last year and could be one to keep an eye on in the market.

Of the ones with previous experience, Maestro Bernstein would be the main one to note for Anthony Brittain on UK debut. An ex-Aidan O'Brien trained colt who has a fantastic pedigree, being by Wootton Bassett and out of Arc heroine Found, this four-year-old was placed twice in maidens last year for Ballydoyle and make his all-weather debut here.
Multaneighttothree, Leysthorpe Star and debutant Haltonwood are others to note in this field of 10.

6.30 Southwell - In-form Wicksey bids to complete the hat-trick

Wicksey will face four rivals in the BetMGM Supports Safer Gambling Handicap over a mile and a half at Southwell in his pursuit of a hat-trick of wins.

After showing nothing on the turf in the summer, he was gelded and sent to Ben Haslam's yard and after an eighth-place finish on stable debut, the three-year-old has since made it two from two in handicaps over the middle-distance trips.

He will have to defy a 5lbs rise in the weights but looks a cut above his rivals at present and his handler may have found a perfect opportunity for Wicksey to pick up his third win of the month and join Beauzon and Al Najashi at the top of the horse of the month leaderboard for February.

The chief threat may come from James Fanshawe's Corduroy who will be having his first start since being gelded and connections will be hoping the gelding operation, plus the four-furlong step up in trip, will help bring about the required improvement to record a first career success for this son of Cracksman.

The Archie Watson-trained Very Demure was last seen finishing fifth behind Wicksey 20 days ago, however is 7lbs better off at the weights here.

Crown Inn To Win for Ivan Furtado and Jamie Osborne's Jerseygeordie make up this field of five.
