British and Irish raiders were out of luck as Full Rose swooped late to land the German 1000 Guineas at Dusseldorf for trainer Andreas Wohler.
The David Simcock-trained Terror and Michael O'Callaghan's Letters Of Note travelled across Europe to contest the Classic for owner Sheikh Fahad, with Terror in the Qatar Racing silks and Letters Of Note carrying the colours of Pearl Bloodstock.
The two raced upsides as they rounded the home turn and both looked in with a chance of victory heading inside the final furlong before weakening.
Full Rose finished with a rattle down the outside of the field in the hands of Jozef Bojko and got up to beat Nymeria close home, with Schutzenpost third.
