Steady Pace carries the hopes of Saeed bin Suroor in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

The Newmarket handler, who has saddled 35 winners at the meeting along with finishing top trainer on four occasions, feels the two-year-old can return to the scene of his maiden victory and play a major role in the Listed event over five furlongs on the first day.

Although the son of Dark Angel could only finish third behind King Of Rooks in the National Stakes at Sandown, the form of that race was given a major boost earlier following the facile success of runner-up Buratino in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom.

Bin Suroor said: "I think Steady Pace is my best chance, as he is a horse I like and he has improved a lot.

"When he was beaten at Sandown last time we found that he was not well after the race and was coughing.
