The weekend of June 27 and 28 saw Treve, the 2013 Cartier Horse Of The Year, enter the leaderboards for the 2015 Cartier Racing Awards.

Treve (48) moved up following her pleasing victory in the Group One Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud on Sunday, June 28 and is now two from two in 2015.

The five-year-old mare, trained in France by Criquette Head-Maarek for Al Shaqab Racing, is going for an unprecedented third win in Europe's richest race, the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, following on from her spectacular successes in 2013 and 2014.

Treve currently lies in joint-third position in the 2015 Cartier Older Horse division for points earned in Pattern races, behind Solow (104).

Five-year-old Solow, trained in France by Criquette's brother, Freddy Head, for the Wertheimer brothers, is already a Group One winner in three countries this year. Dual Guineas hero Gleneagles (128), trained by Aidan O'Brien for a Coolmore syndicate, continues to lead the way in the standings for Cartier Horse Of The Year. Solow and Gleneagles are due to meet for the first time in the £1-million Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 29.

Gleneagles heads the Cartier Three-Year-Old category too, in front of the John Gosden-trained pair - Golden Horn (64) and Jack Hobbs (64). Golden Horn got the better of his stablemate by three and a half lengths in the Investec Derby at Epsom Downs on June 6. It was Jack Hobbs' chance to shine in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on June 27, when he powered to an impressive five-length triumph over Investec Derby third Storm The Stars. Golden Horn takes on older horses for the first time in the 10-furlong Coral-Eclipse at Sandown Park on Saturday (July 3).

Legatissimo (88) continues at the top the Cartier Three-Year-Old Filly division, having taken the QIPCO 1000 Guineas and finished the short-head second to Qualify (48) in the Investec Oaks. She gained more points last weekend when again runner-up by a short-head to Diamondsandrubies in the Group One Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on June 28.

Harry Herbert, Cartier's racing consultant said: "We saw two fantastic middle-distance performances last weekend, with Treve in great form at Saint-Cloud and Jack Hobbs powering to an impressive Irish Derby success.

"Attention now turns to Sandown Park on Saturday when Investec Derby hero Golden Horn bids to extended his unbeaten record in the Coral-Eclipse, while festival meetings at Newmarket, Ascot, Goodwood and Deauville are all approaching."

The 25thannual Cartier Racing Awards will be presented at a glittering ceremony before an invited audience of 300 at the Dorchester Hotel, London, England, on the evening of Tuesday, November 10.

The Cartier Racing Awards were established in 1991 to reward excellence in horseracing. In addition to the eight equine awards, the Cartier/Daily Telegraph Award of Merit goes to the person or persons who, in the opinion of the special 17-strong Cartier Jury, has/have done the most for European racing and/or breeding either over their lifetime or within the past 12 months.

European horseracing's top awards are delivered through a tried and tested combination of points earned by horses in Pattern races throughout 2015 (30%), combined at the end of season with the opinions of a panel of racing journalists (35%) and votes from readers of Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph plus Channel 4 Racing viewers (35%).
