Paddy Mathers stood down after Leicester fall

Paddy Mathers appears to have had a lucky escape following a nasty fall in the stalls at Leicester.
The jockey was thrown backwards from Zaza Zest when the filly reared up in the gates before the Gumley Claiming Stakes.
Mathers was attended to on the spot before being taken to the medical room at the East Midlands track where he walked in, with some help, to be checked over.
Zaza Zest, who was withdrawn, appeared none the worse.
The Richard Fahey-trained filly would have been a short-priced favourite and in her absence Caltra Colleen (5-2), trained by Mick Channon, ran out an easy eight-length winner under 5lb claimer Paddy Pilley.
Mathers was taken off his two remaining rides on the card.
"Thankfully it doesn't seem too bad. It seems muscular," said clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson.
"He's walking and has improved massively as it looked nasty. He's been laid off for the day."
