Ryan Moore, who won two races and finished second in two others, won the 13th Bill Shoemaker Award, given to the most outstanding jockey of the 2015 Breeders' Cup World Championships at Keeneland Race Course.
The Shoemaker Award is based on a 10-5-3-1 scoring system on first-through fourth-place finishes in each of the 13 Breeders' Cup World Championship races.
Moore posted victories on Found (IRE) in the Longines Turf and Hit It a Bomb in the Juvenile Turf. His runner-up finishes came on Alice Springs (IRE) in the Juvenile Fillies Turf and Legatissimo (IRE) in the Filly & Mare Turf.
It was the first Shoemaker Award for Moore, now a winner of eight Breeders' Cup races. Javier Castellano, who also won two races at these Championships, finished second with 28 points and Joel Rosario, who rode one winner and placed in the top four in five other races, finished third with 23 points.
The Shoemaker Award is named in honor of one of the greatest jockeys in the history of Thoroughbred racing. Shoemaker, who captured the Kentucky Derby four times, won more than 8,800 races in a career that spanned more than 40 years.
In 1987, at age 56, Shoemaker won the Breeders' Cup Classic aboard Ferdinand at Hollywood Park.
