Trainer Gary Moore has been released from hospital as he continues to recover from injuries suffered when kicked by one his horses on Thursday.

The Sussex-based trainer had to spend Thursday night in intensive care after suffering a punctured lung, broken ribs and a bruised spleen.

He was reported to be making a good recovery on Friday, however, and is now back at home.

Moore's son, Josh, said: "He's okay and he's feeling a lot better. He's just on painkilllers and there's nothing major wrong with him, he's just very rough and sore.

"He's come out of hospital and hopefully he's now just resting at home."

Moore will have at least enjoyed watching the action unfold at Sandown as he saddled three long-odds winners in Ar Mad, Vino Griego and Darebin, with Josh scoring on the first-named and his brother Jamie partnering the other pair.
