Charlie Longsdon's Kilcooley could take on Thistlecrack in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham before a possible Ladbrokes World Hurdle tilt at the Festival.

The seven-year-old was last seen beating Rock On Ruby by 13 lengths in the Grade Two bet365 West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby on his first attempt at three miles.

Off the track since, Longsdon says he is ready to run and he could go and test his Cheltenham credentials on trials day at the end of the month.

He told sportinglife.com: "I'm looking at the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham as a possible for Kilcooley, we'll look nearer the time but he could go there.

"He's had a break, is in good form and we are looking at the World Hurdle for him."

Meanwhile, stablemate Pendra is being saved for a spring campaign after he was a respectable fifth behind Wakanda in the listed Sodexo Silver Cup Handicap Chase at Ascot last month.

Longsdon said: "He's fine, we're freshening him up for the spring now and we're looking at one of the Nationals for him, the Grand National, perhaps, the Irish National.
