A review of the rest of Saturday's meeting at Sandown where Harley Rebel staked a late claim for Cheltenham in the opener.
Harley Rebel staked a late claim to making an appearance at next week's Cheltenham Festival after landing the Aspall Cyder Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Sandown.
Although looking the first of the quartet to go to post beaten rounding the final turn, the even-money favourite responded well under pressure to follow up his success last time out at Chepstow.
Forging on over two out past early leader Shintori, the four-year-old continued to draw clear, crossing the line 14 lengths ahead of runner-up Alhamareer.
Winning trainer Neil Mulholland said: "He is in the Fred Winter and he needed nine to come out of that.
"We will see how he comes out of the race, but he didn't really like the ground. He never travelled and going past the stands he was never happy.
"That win gives him a better chance of getting in. Forgetting Cheltenham, it is nice to come to Sandown on a Saturday and win a race."
Emma Lavelle ended a lean spell on the track after Mosspark returned from a 105-day break with a clear-cut success in the Kings Mistral Handicap Chase.
Kept close to the pace throughout the three-mile prize, which was set for much of the race by top weight Relax, it was not until the run down to the last that the 5-1 winner asserted.
Although Dawson City attempted to come with a run to challenge the eventual winner, his chances were hampered by the loose horse between the final two fences gifting Mosspark more crucial lengths.
Showing no signs of stopping the eight-year-old powered on up the hill to take victory by six lengths and gift Lavelle her first winner in 91 days.
Lavelle said: "I'm pleased to see that. You have to be fit to ride him as he is not one that necessarily helps you out through a race.
"He has always had plenty of ability, but he started to keep hiding it back.
"He will go up a little bit for that and we will keep it simple and go for staying chases. We won't look at anything amazing."
Kerry Lee pointed to an outing at next month's Grand National Meeting for Kylemore Lough (8/15) after he completed a four-timer with an exhibition round of jumping from the front for an eight-length call in the Esher Novices' Limited Handicap Chase. She said: "He is a very good horse and that was a serious performance. He goes straight to Aintree for the Manifesto Novices' Chase.
"I don't think he is ground dependent, it just happens that he has done a lot of his winning on horrible ground."
Morning Reggie (11/4) gave trainer Oliver Sherwood a winner when opening his account for the season in getting the better of Minella Reception by a short head in the concluding Kilbrittain Castle Handicap Chase.
