Ian Williams is hoping for quick ground to aid Sir Maximilian's chance in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan on March 26.

Williams felt conditions were not suitable for his speedster last time when he was fourth to Fityaan in the Meydan Sprint on Super Saturday earlier this month.

The Alvechuch trainer has his fingers crossed the big race goes to plan for Sir Maximilian, who stayed on well to finish sixth to Sole Power in the Grade One sprint on Dubai World Cup night 12 months ago.

"He's come out of the Super Sprint well," said Williams.

"He's had a quiet week. The ground was a little bit easy for him that evening and hopefully he'll go back there on fast ground.

"On his day when things fall right he's a top class horse and you couldn't totally rule him out when things just fall his way.

"The margins are so small at that level he needs everything to go right for him and maybe a little bit wrong for the others.
