Joe Fanning is looking forward to some "good chances" on Lingfield's All-Weather Championships Finals card on Good Friday.

The experienced jockey will predominantly be riding for north Yorkshire trainer Mark Johnston and expects a big run from Watersmeet in the Coral Easter Classic All-Weather Middle Distance Championships Conditions Stakes.

The five-year-old Watersmeet qualified for the 10-furlong event with a narrow victory at Dundalk at the start of the month, his first success since scoring at Newmarket in May 2015.

Fanning, speaking to At The Races on Tuesday, said: "They've all got chances to be honest, they are good races on Friday and they've got to step up but I've got some great rides.

"Watersmeet's a good, tough horse. He should have won a top handicap at Newmarket last season but he shot across the track and he can just go to the left a little bit. But he's got plenty of ability and ran some great races last year, including when winning at Newmarket the time after.

"It was good to get his head back in front last time. It'll help to have horses around him, he just needs that little bit of help."

Kingsley Klarion goes for glory in the Unibet 3 Year Old Sprint All-Weather Championships Conditions Stakes over five furlongs and six yards.

The son of Arcano is another that Fanning is looking forward to riding having been on board for nine of his 11 career starts.

The jockey said: "He's improved a lot since the back end of last season, he's just progressed and ran a good race every time bar Southwell when fourth (in January). You can forgive him that and he mustn't like the (fibresand) surface.

"He won at Kempton after that and has just been beaten at Lingfield since by an improving horse of Richard Hannon's (Agueroo)."

Mister Universe bids for a hat-trick of wins in the Ladbrokes All-Weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes and Fanning said: "He was a very good two-year-old, we thought a lot of him then. He was a touch disappointing last season but he's bounced back this year and he's run some good races. He was good last time in a fair race."
