A round-up of the news from Lingfield on Wednesday, where apprentice Clifford Lee struck for the first time for his new boss.

Felix Leiter benefited from a slight drop in class to capture his first race since August 2014 with a solid display in the Martin Lawrence 60th Birthday Celebration Handicap at Lingfield.

The Karl Burke-trained four-year-old was always up with the pace after being quickly away from his wide draw and moving nearer to the stands side.

Felix Leiter (9/2) and George Cinq dominated proceedings with the former pulling away under 7lb claimer Clifford Lee in the final half-furlong to score by two and a quarter lengths.

George Cinq held on to second place by a neck from Passing Star.

"He's been in good form and just a slight drop in grade has helped him," said Burke.

"We might have to go back up in grade again, but that should give him a bit of confidence to go and do that.

"He's consistent and is a good work horse at home. It's good for Clifford as well. It's his first winner for us since he moved to us from Ed Walker's."

Jamie Osborne's Figurante (6/1) edged out Make Music by a nose to take division one of the Racing Welfare Fillies' Handicap in the hands of Cathy Gannon.

"The ground was probably marginally on the slow side for her. I think she'll be better when she can hear her feet rattle," said the Lambourn trainer.

"She's not going to go up a penalty, so we'll give her a little bit of time."

Division Two went to the Ron Hodges-trained Here's Two (3/1 favourite), who battled on well for George Baker to hold Phoenix Beat by a length.

After finishing placed on her two previous starts, Rapacity Alexander (9/4 favourite) got off the mark in the John And Hazel Peek 80th Birthday Novice Median Auction Stakes.

The David Evans-trained filly was smartly away for John Egan and was soon in command, scoring by three and a quarter lengths.

David Probert delivered Diamond Vine (25/1) with a late surge to snatch the First Title Insurance PLC Handicap for trainer Ron Harris, who also provided the third in Secret Witness.

Tenzing Norgay (15/8), wearing a visor for the first time, romped home by five lengths in the Roger Holmden Memorial Median Auction Maiden Stakes to open his account at the ninth attempt.

Hint Of Grey (11/4 favourite), trained by Don Cantillon, asserted under 7lb claimer George Wood at the business end to run out a comfortable winner of the Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap.

Conrad Allen's Hard Toffee (3/1) saw off Barren Brook under Jim Crowley to make a successful debut under Flat rules after running in bumpers in the First Title Insurance PLC Selling Stakes.
