Seasoned jockey Yutaka Take expects A Shin Hikari to have a "straightforward" experience at Royal Ascot - as long as the Japanese sensation can keep a cool head.

The five-year-old son of Deep Impact is hot favourite for the Prince of Wales's Stakes next Wednesday after he backed up his Hong Kong Cup success with a brilliant dismantling of a top-drawer field in the Prix d'Ispahan at Chantilly last month.

Take admits the Masanori Sakaguchi-trained A Shin Hikari does have temperament issues, but told The Sun: "I will ride my race and let the horse do all the talking.

"Although A Shin Hikari has a difficult temperament I know him very well now.

"You can't fight him, you let him do what he wants. The key is for him to be relaxed as he has had a few mental issues in the past.

"He won well in Hong Kong and also in France. We kept him calm before those races.
