Rae Guest may explore Group-race options abroad for Jane's Memory should conditions prove to be more suitable.

After missing all of last season, the daughter of Captain Rio left behind her seasonal debut when claiming victory in a Listed contest at Haydock last month.

While the Newmarket handler has earmarked a return to Pattern company with the four-year-old for either a shot at the Hackwood Stakes at Newbury or the Summer Stakes at York, he has not ruled out the possibility of looking at targets further afield.

He said: "I was very pleased with that run at Haydock. We thought she would come on for her first run and do the business.

"She has always been a good filly as she won first time out and was second in Listed races as a two-year-old. Her owner died and that's the reason we couldn't run her last year as we had to sort out a few things.

"The next step is a Group Three for her. We would prefer a fillies' only race but we will keep our options open.

"There is nothing for her in June so we will look at either the Hackwood at Newbury or the Summer Stakes at York for her.

"She needs a bit of cut in the ground, though, and if we can't find anything in England with suitable conditions, then we may look at something in Europe."
