Barry McHugh faces a short spell on the sidelines after being concussed following a fall in the parade ring at Thirsk on Saturday.

The jockey was unshipped from his mount Notnow Seamus ahead of a mile-and-a-half maiden.

He was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough for precautionary checks which showed no real damage and he was allowed home.

"He was quite badly concussed yesterday, but there was no damage apart from he had a bang on the head," said his agent Richard Hale.

"They did the scans and he's clean. They let him out of hospital last night. He was concussed so he will have to take a concussion test after seven days.

"He'll be out for about 10 days to two weeks but if he passes his test, all being well he'll back at the end of May.
