Richard Hobson hopes to have Allysson Monterg back in action in the second half of the season.
The seven-year-old was restricted to just one run in a Listed hurdle at Cheltenham last season after sustaining a tendon injury.
He added: "He ran well in the Albert Bartlett the season before last. He made a huge mistake at the top of the hill in that and still managed to finish sixth.
"His only run was in a very competitive Listed race at Cheltenham last season, but he damaged a tendon and we are just working on getting him back.
"We don't want to rush him, but he should have his first run over fences in January. He has got a huge engine."
