Frankie Dettori struggled to keep his emotions in check after receiving another Gold Cup from the Queen at Ascot on Thursday.
The 47-year-old Italian produced a sublime ride on Stradivarius to bring up his sixth win in the week's most historic race and 60th at the meeting.
Dettori, who won his first with Drum Taps in 1992, had to work hard for the win, battling back after French raider Vazirabad had briefly headed him inside the final furlong.
"It's the pinnacle of the week and it lived up to expectations," he told Sky Sports News reporter David Craig.
"We found ourselves in a dogfight and we prevailed. It's a massive thrill."
Dettori, who earlier joked that the saddlecloth with 60 on it he received from the Queen was dusty after lying unused all Wednesday, played down rumours he was set to retire.
Asked how he kept going in the saddle, he added: "It's the love of the sport. I love racing.
"I love the atmosphere, riding good horses on the big stages. Having 80,000 people shouting my name - you can't get better than this."
