Constitution Hill makes his eagerly-anticipated Flat debut in a fascinating and valuable SBK Road To Cheltenham Novice Stakes at Southwell.
Nicky Henderson's superstar hurdler is an eight-time Grade One winner but has fallen on three of his last four starts and switches to the Flat under Oisin Murphy.
Expectations are high and it will be captivating to see how he handles this mile-and-a-half trip on the all-weather before sights are set on Prestbury Park next month, or not…

This is far from a cakewalk, however, and Square Necker looks the obvious danger. Trained by Kevin Philippart de Foy for Amo Racing, this four-year-old got off the mark at the second time of asking at Dundalk in December and connections are confident he can build on that under David Egan.

Harbour Island is a nice type who improved for the extra distance when claiming a Taunton maiden hurdle last month. A raw individual, he will be hoping to step forward with each start.
The Neil Mulholland-trained Rathkenny has now scored in a point, bumper, and over obstacles having seen off West Hill Verde at Doncaster. That looked like a fair race, and he could be a useful prospect over hurdles before tackling fences.

7.00 Southwell - Dingle and Dosman fancied in classy handicap
A deep and open feel to this SBK: Dont Settle For Less Handicap where Dingle and Dosman make plenty of appeal.
Dosman sole success came back in November 2024, but he has dropped to a useful mark and looked a shade unlucky when runner-up at Newcastle last time. Up a pound, he should hit the frame under Jonny Peate.
Topweight Dingle made it three wins from his last five runs when successful at Newcastle and given his consistent profile he is another who rates an each-way contender.
Last-time victors Midnight Lion and Zryan enter calculations, while First Ambition will be expected to bounce back from a disappointing effort last time.
