Lacrima is a fascinating contender on debut for Nick Scholfield. His form is hard to gauge, winning his last three starts over fences and he is worth a watch in the betting.

Others to note include Doctors Hill, while The Kemble Brewery reverts to hurdles having fallen over fences here in November.

2.37 Yarmouth - Classy Del Maro takes on unexposed rivals

Useful three-year-old Del Maro spearheads a field of five for the excellent tigerbet.co.uk National Extra Places Paid Novice Stakes at Yarmouth.

The Charlie Appleby-trained son of Camelot ran plenty of solid races last season, the pick being when third behind Derby favourite Pierre Bonnard in the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket. The entitles him to break his duck under William Buick.

Knowledge made a winning start to his career when narrowly beating Venetian Prince at Southwell and he is the chief threat as he moves up to 10 furlongs under James Doyle.

Florentine Law is a half-brother to three winners including Marquisat and is another who appeals on debut. The King's Point Of Law and Juddmonte's Sintra complete the field.

5.45 Southwell - Well-bred King Of Thebes debuts for Godolphin

King Of Thebes rates an exciting prospect in the Book The Bistro In Sherwood Restaurant Maiden Stakes at Southwell.

Charlie Appleby's charge cost a whopping 1.5m guineas as a yearling and has been gelded ahead of this debut run. He is a half-brother to the useful Morgan Le Faye, and hopes will be high that he can make a winning start.

Roger Varian's Al Azd, rated 83 after five starts, has not always looked the most straightforward. He has finished runner-up on his past three outings and steps up a furlong with the blinkers booked again.

Sailor Song looks the second-string for Charlie Appleby and Toby Moore. He stepped forward from his debut to chase home High Storm at Doncaster last month and with that rival now rated 85, he should give a good account.
