The official BHA handicapper Dominic Gardiner-Hill has never seen a performance to match Frankel's in the 2000 Guineas.
Handicapper won't be rushed into a decision on Frankel's rating
The official British Horseracing Authority handicapper Dominic Gardiner-Hill will not be rushed into a snap decision on what rating to give Frankel following his explosive performance in the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Henry Cecil's colt annihilated his rivals on the Rowley Mile to record one of the most memorable Classic victories for many years, making every yard of the running and passing the post with six lengths in hand.
Gardiner-Hill, the handicapper for milers in Britain, was blown away by the display and admits he needs time to digest things before deciding on a revised mark.
"Frankel's performance can only be described as awesome," said Gardiner-Hill.
"Unfortunately, we don't have any sectional times to see how fast Frankel was going during the first half of the race.
"It is not an easy race to put a figure on. The second horse (Dubawi Gold) came into the race rated 101 and the third horse (Native Khan), representing Racing Post Trophy form, came into the race on 111.
"Then there was 11 lengths back to the fourth. All this does not make it easy from a handicapping point of view.
"Frankel was a 126-rated two-year-old and I think it would be rather churlish to say that he hasn't run his best ever race here so that puts him on 127, 128 or maybe 130.
"I have to go away and sleep on it and then talk to a few people, particularly Garry O'Gorman, the senior Irish Turf Club handicapper.
"I don't think I have ever seen a Guineas performance like that and I am not entirely sure I have ever seen a performance like that.
"He had them beat at halfway - he was on the bridle and the jockeys on the others were all shoving or pushing.
"He has got to be rated higher than 126. We will keep any figure under review as the season goes on and see what the second and third do."
