Plan outlined for Fabre ace

Andre Fabre has outlined the Prix Niel at Longchamp in September as the next target for his brilliant Investec Derby winner Pour Moi. The Mickael Barzalona-ridden three-year-old flew from the rear to deny Treasure Beach by a head giving Fabre his first ever win in the race. The form could hardly be working out better, with the runner-up going on to claim Irish Derby glory and even the well-beaten pair Masked Marvel and Pisco Sour winning in Group company since. Fabre has an excellent record in September's Prix Niel and hopes Pour Moi can add to the tally before going on to become his ninth Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero a few weeks later. "He is fine and is still semi-resting at the moment. He could do something more next week," said Fabre. "The Prix Niel will be his next race and the Arc is his target, obviously. "He is a horse with an excellent turn of foot and I think he will improve - all horses improve with time. "The Epsom form looks good, but in the Arc of course he will be in competition with the older horses and I also have a lot of respect for the Japanese horses that are coming. I think they are very good."
