Grand National-winning jockey Ryan Mania came through his first ride unscathed since returning from injury on the opening day of the Scottish Grand National meeting at Ayr.

The jockey is set to renew his association with Auroras Encore in Saturday's Coral Scottish Grand National as the 11-year-old aims to become the first horse since the legendary Red Rum in 1974 to complete the rarely-attempted National double. Mania later finished second aboard Grand National also-ran Mr Moonshine (5-1) in the Hillhouse Quarry Handicap Chase, while the jockey finished off his afternoon on the unplaced Karinga Dandy in the Befriend Johnnie Delta Racing On Facebook Handicap Hurdle.
