Taquin Du Seuil and AP McCoy got the better of the JP McManus owned Uxizandre in the JLT Novices' Chase at Cheltenham.
Alan King said of the second: "I'm very proud of him, I thought we had it for a second but it was a tremendous performance. He never missed a beat the whole way round, we felt we disappointed him at Warwick dropping him in so Choc (Thornton) wanted to make use of him. "The race brought him on a good bit and though he went a good gallop he wasn't overdoing it. He has to go left-handed which rules Punchestown out. Aintree is possible or maybe the Future Champions at Ayr." Nigel Twiston-Davies is also likely to head to Aintree with Double Ross. The Naunton handler said: "He's run another great race and I'm very happy with him. He'll probably go on to Liverpool now."
