Sky Bet punter's yankee delight
Saturday 18 October 2014 10:17, UK
One lucky Sky Bet customer landed himself £28,548 from just a £1 yankee on Friday night - despite the stewards attempting to spoil his celebrations!
The customer in question was particularly fortunate given that his final winning selection at Dundalk, Obliterator, was subsequently demoted to second after a stewards' enquiry.
However, luckily for him, Sky Bet pay out first past the post on all races in Great Britain and Ireland.
The man's biggest-priced winner was a 20/1 shot on Newmarket's Future Champions Day card, Berkshire, while the Dundalk winner scored at 8/1.
That meant he won more than £28,000 from an initial outlay of just £11.
Sky Bet's Michael Shinners said: "Results were very hard to find yesterday, so its a great achievement for our lucky punter.
"The first-past-the-post rule in Britain and Ireland has ensured a tremendous start to one Sky Bet punter's weekend."
A yankee bet is a a multiple bet which includes one four-fold, four trebles and six doubles.
Winning selections:
3.15 Cheltenham: Sybarite - 11/1
4.35 Newmarket: Here Comes When - 11/1
5.10 Newmarket: Berkshire - 20/1
8.10 Dundalk: Obliterator - 8/1
