A review of the action from Bangor on Wednesday, where Chatez got his jumps career off to the best possible start.

Chatez, a smart handicapper on the Flat, got his jumps career off to the best possible start with a smooth success in the Hampton Vets Juvenile Maiden Hurdle at Bangor.

Sent off the 4-7 favourite, the Alan King-trained three-year-old took command two out and kept on well to defeat Top Of The Glas by a length and three-quarters.

"It was a good start and I'm delighted with him," said King.

"I think we'll find something with a penalty and if that went according to plan he could go to Kempton at Christmas."

Zaidiyn (3-1), a half-brother to smart performers Zaidpour and Zaynar, upheld family honour when making a winning jumps debut in the Strut & Parker Novices' Hurdle.

The Brian Ellison-trained four-year-old looked a useful recruit as he scored by six lengths under Danny Cook.
