Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning jockey Sam Thomas plans to embark upon a training career next year.
Thomas, who will always be synonymous for riding Denman to victory in the blue riband of jumps racing in 2008, has already begun to develop a yard in Gloucestershire but has no plans just yet to retire from the saddle.
He told At The Races: "I've been building my own yard and hopefully by this time next year I'll have my licence to have runners under Rules next year.
"My yard is right next to Fergal O'Brien's yard and we're in a great location to train from and there's lots of space to develop.
"I never wanted to train when I was riding. I'm not retired yet, but I know what I want to do now going forward.
"I'd love to win on one (a horse) I've trained before hanging up my boots."
