CHAPS Restaurants Barbados to sponsor novices' handicap chase at Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham Racecourse is pleased to announce CHAPS Restaurants Barbados as the new sponsor of the Listed novices' handicap chase on day one of The Festival, Champion Day, Tuesday, March 10.
The £60,000 race will be run as the CHAPS Restaurants Barbados Novices' Handicap Chase and takes place over an extended two and a half miles at 5.15pm.
Leading racehorse owner Andy Stewart is the majority shareholder in CHAPS Restaurants Barbados, which has three spectacularly-located venues on the Caribbean island.
The flagship restaurant is Cin Cin, based on the Platinum Coast, which has won many awards and attracts the stars of the world.
Carey Buckler, Regional Sponsorship Manager of Jockey Club Racecourses, commented: "I am delighted that the novices' handicap chase on the opening day of The Festival will be sponsored by CHAPS Restaurants Barbados.
"The Stewart Family have sponsored at Cheltenham and it is great to welcome them back to the Home of Jump Racing."
Andy Stewart added: "We love Cheltenham through and through and many of our restaurant staff will gather at our home in Barbados to watch the race on TV.
"We hope all the attendees and fans of the best sport in the world have fun over the four days."
Next month sees the long-awaited re-opening of Pisces in the St Lawrence Gap, which is the Cin Cin of the South Coast but with a livelier atmosphere and many of its diners still partying into the small hours.
Hugo's, which opens later this year, will be the ultimate in fine dining on the beach. This newest restaurant in the group is named after Andy and Judy Stewart's one-year-old grandson (see photo below).
The Stewarts have commissioned unique trophies, hand-made in Barbados, for the winning owner, jockey and trainer.
As well as the trophies and prize money, the winning owner will also receive a complimentary VIP Champagne Dinner for four at Cin Cin.
The Stewart Family has enjoyed six winners at The Festival, headlined by the amazing Big Buck's, successful a record four times in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
