John Kington was taken to North Tees Hospital in Stockton with a shoulder injury following a fall at Sedgefield.
The 3lb claimer took a heavy fall from Lucy Milan, who was fatally injured, in the opening Paxtons For Independent Twine 'King of String' Maiden Hurdle won by Donald McCain's Black Jack Rover.
Amateur Tommy Dowson was also taken to the same hospital to be checked over when suffering from concussion in a fall from King Of The Dark at the final fence when in second in the Paxtons For JCB's New Fastrac 4000 Novices' Chase, won by Mason Hindmarsh.
"John Kington was taken to hospital with a dislocated right collarbone and Tommy Dowson was also taken there as he was concussed," said clerk of the course Sophie Barton.
There was drama in the concluding bumper when 3lb claimer conditional Craig Nichol was unshipped from Dubai Shen, who jinked near the paddock gate well inside the final furlong when looking to land the spoils.
Both horse and rider appeared to escape unscathed as Allycat went on to win for trainer Chris Grant and conditional Diarmuid O'Regan.
