A round-up of the pick of the action from Ayr where there was a 350-1 treble for trainer Linda Perratt.
Blue Sonic could bid to continue her excellent form at Newmarket this weekend after starring in a 350-1 Ayr treble for trainer Linda Perratt.
The five-year-old was sent off the 2-1 joint-favourite for the Racing UK Day Pass Handicap, carrying a penalty for a course victory a little under 48 hours earlier.
It was clear from an early stage those exertions had not made much of a mark as Blue Sonic travelled powerfully for Daniel Tudhope.
For a moment it looked as though she would struggle to get a run after being caught behind a wall of horses heading inside the final furlong, but when the gap came, she quickened up smartly to get up and beat stable companion Saxonette by a head.
Blue Sonic could now be set for a crack at Saturday's Betway Grey Horse Handicap on the July Course.
"Danny (Tudhope) said he would run her again (after Saturday) as she was in great form. I think today if she hadn't won she'd have been a very unlucky loser," said Perratt.
"She couldn't really get out, but she's done it really well. To win three on the bounce is hard.
"I put her in the grey's race at Newmarket on Saturday. It's maybe a big ask as she's had two quick runs, but we'll wait and see how she comes out."
The Lanarkshire-based trainer also enjoyed a one-two in the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap, with 8-1 shot Jinky and Joe Fanning seeing off Rock Canyon by a neck.
The stable hat-trick was initiated by the David Nolan-ridden Dark Crystal (12-1) in the Racing UK 1 Price 3 Devices Handicap.
"I thought we came with a few chances if everything went right, but we've been there before and it hasn't worked out, so I'm delighted," Perratt told Racing UK.
"Dark Crystal hadn't been 100 per cent right and she came back and did it nicely at Musselburgh. We went for a bigger race on Friday, she seemed to be bouncing so I said we'd take a chance and run her today and thankfully we did.
"Jinky has been bouncing at home and although he's been (getting) beaten, he's not been beaten far. He seems in good heart."
Tudhope rode a double on the afternoon, also striking gold in the Racing UK Handicap aboard Charava.
Patrick Holmes' 7-1 chance was all out at the finish, but the line just came in time and he passed the post a head to the good over Haidees Reflection.
Holmes said: "I felt he was going to be placed, but when Danny got to work he picked up a bit again.
"He got shuffled down the field last time and had a bit much to do. He's got a better run of the race today, which in these low-grade races, makes a big difference."
Tudhope picked up a two-day suspension (August 24 and 25) for using his whip above the permitted level, while Natalia Gemelova was given four days (August 24-27) for her ride on the fourth placed Affectionate Lady.
The most valuable race on the card, the Watch On 3 Devices racinguk.com/anywhere Handicap, produced a stirring duel, with Gworn (4-1) and PJ McDonald seeing off Mica Mika by a nose.
Winning trainer Mike Smith said: "The horse is in great order, his skin is tremendous and he feels well.
"The ground was right, the trip was right, he's won off 88 before and he was 7lb lower than that. Why should he not go close?
"It was the perfect ride. The gap opened up for him and up he came.
"I think we'll come back here for the Western meeting. I think he'd like the ground a little bit softer."
There was a major upset in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes as 1-3 favourite Anabel played second fiddle to the Keith Dalgleish-trained Forever A Lady (8-1).
The Today's Racing Just 10 With RacingUK Handicap brought proceedings to a close, with victory going to Alistair and Garry Whillans with 9-2 shot Henpecked.
