Tuite rocks Brighton

A review of Tuesday's action from a gloomy Brighton, where Ebor hero Joe Tuite was among the winners again.
Fresh from enjoying the biggest day of his career at York on Saturday, Ebor-winning trainer Joe Tuite was delighted to keep the ball rolling as Posh Bounty came good on a miserable afternoon at Brighton.
The Lambourn handler's training skills were brilliantly advertised on the Knavesmire as Litigant overcame an absence of almost 500 days to land one of the calendar's most prestigious handicaps.
It was back to the day job on what was a trying few hours for officials at the seaside track, as heavy rain from mid-morning and intermittent bouts of mist led to delays and numerous inspections taking place between races, but the card did eventually take place in its entirety.
Following five previous placed efforts from 10 starts, Posh Bounty looked to have an obvious chance of getting off the mark in the Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap and was the 9-4 favourite in the hands of Martin Harley.
The six-furlong contest was a non-event for spectators, but the market leader emerged from the gathering gloom clear and passed the post two and a half lengths ahead of Gulland Rock.
Tuite said: "I'm delighted as she's a filly who came to me last year rated in the 40s and with three duck eggs next to her name.
"We should have won with her last year, but we had one or two issues and she had a hiccup in the spring and we said we'd wait for the soft ground.
"We were sweet on her chances today with the way the ground was and I'm delighted to see her get her head in front as she's owned by some lovely people.
"She's entered at Redcar on Saturday, but unless she comes out of this race absolutely bouncing, I doubt we'll go there.
"I think she's still a well-handicapped filly when she gets her conditions."
Epsom-based trainer Michael Attwater enjoyed a double on the afternoon, landing the Army Benevolent Fund 'The Soldiers' Charity' Handicap with Knight Music (15-8) and the Blueribandbet Always 7 Places On Golf Handicap with Symphony Of Kings (11-4).
Knight Music was particularly impressive, following up last week's 11-length win at Kempton with a nine-length romp under Robert Havlin.
Attwater said: "It was looking a bit iffy either of them would get to run with the way the weather was, but thankfully they've got through and we've had a good result and have some happy owners.
"We knew Knight Music would go up a lot for winning by so far at Kempton, so we had to run again quickly.
"I was a bit worried about the ground and Robert said he wasn't in love with it, but he got away it and I think he just handled it better than the others.
"He's going up 12lb for winning at Kempton, so I hope the handicapper doesn't put him up any more for winning again today.
"He's had two quick runs now and it's third win this season. We'll freshen him up and see what else there is for him.
"The other horse (Symphony Of Kings) is a nice horse we got out of a claimer at Windsor.
"He hasn't done a lot wrong and we were pretty hopeful he'd be hard to beat today if he handled the ground.
"It helped they went quite slow as once he gets out in front, he's a difficult horse to pass."
Trainer Mick Appleby and jockey Andrew Mullen also combined for doubles, landing the Brighton And Hove Streamline Taxis Nursery with 3-1 shot Secret Clause and the Donatello Restaurant Handicap with 11-10 favourite French Press.
George Baker's Boutan (8-1) made every yard of the running in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden Stakes, while John Bridger's Welsh Inlet (9-2) was victorious in the Blueribandbet Exclusive Membership Benefits Fillies' Handicap.
