David Barron to step Bing Bang Bong up in distance

David Barron feels promising juvenile Bing Bang Bong will have no issues stepping up in trip after his deeply encouraging run at York last week.

The gelded son of Big Bad Bob looked a picture in the parade ring before the Acomb Stakes and did not let anyone down, finishing second behind Recorder - with the third horse home some three lengths adrift in the seven-furlong Group Three.

Plans are fluid, but Barron is optimistic the runaway Newmarket maiden winner has a bright future.

The North Yorkshire handler said: "He's absolutely grand after the Acomb. It was a smashing effort and we were very happy with him.

"There's nothing planned for him at present - he's had three runs now so we just need sit tight and take stock.

"He's a lovely horse and you would've thought a mile would be fine for him."
