Our gallops reporter has the latest from Nigel Twiston-Davies' base, where Cogry has been warming up for the weekend.

COGRY and DOUBLE ROSS worked with aplomb on the steep Fibresand strip to give Nigel Twiston-Davies options in the Ladbrokes Trophy on Saturday.

Cogry has shown in his last two outings he's a stayer that means business and is clearly on the upgrade.

He was mugged in the Scottish Grand National and returned to the fray with a decisive Cheltenham triumph over Singlefarmpayment.

He lurks at the base of the handicap and in current mood looks sure to be competitive.

Double Ross is infamous for putting Sam Twiston-Davies on the sidelines with his uncharacteristic spill at Sandown.

The horse was none the worse and having worked and schooled impressively may run at Newbury, though he has a tempting alternative in the shape of Aintree's Becher Chase the following Saturday.

BALLYKAN has yet to find his feet this season but remains fairly handicapped and capable of a sudden revival.

He galloped out strongly, traversing the steep strip three times, and could go for another handicap chase on the Newbury card.

ANGELS ANTICS is a consistent mare and she is giving every indication that she will step up on her first win under rules.

JABULANI came good in identical fashion last time and is in good order ahead of a handicap hurdle assignment this weekend.
