Sprinters are to the fore when Royal Ascot comes to an end on Saturday, with the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes the highlight.

Although the field is smaller than recent seasons, the race still has an open look with runners coming from Hong Kong, Australia, France and the United States to try and win the £340,000 first prize.

Check out our A-Z guide to the 10 runners going to post...

HONG KONG - DECEMBER 13: Joao Moreira riding Peniaphobia of Hong Kong defeats Christophe Soumillon riding Gold-Fun in Race 5, The Longines Hong Kong Sprin

GOLD-FUN (Form: 12-244)

Trainer: Richard Gibson. Jockey: Christophe Soumillon

Has earned nearly £4m in prize money since leaving Ireland for Hong Kong in 2012 but all of his racing since that move has been round a bend at Sha Tin on good or quicker ground. Likely to be a fast finisher but could do with the ground firming up a little. Rating: 7/10

HOLLER (Form: 1-1512)

Also See:

Trainer: John O'Shea. Jockey: James McDonald

Group 1 winner in Australia, where he is among their best sprinters, but doesn't have a great deal of form with cut in the ground and wouldn't be the best horse sent over from down under to run in this race. Rating: 5/10

JUNGLE CAT (Form: 12424)

Trainer: Charlie Appleby. Jockey: William Buick

Ran a decent race when finishing fourth in Tuesday's King's Stand Stakes over five furlongs. Has some good form over six as well, but might not relish this being run at a fast and furious pace as there are some stamina questions. Rating: 3/10

Magical Memory and Frankie Dettori win the Abernant

MAGICAL MEMORY (Form: 113-11)

Trainer: Charles Hills. Jockey: Frankie Dettori

Very consistent six-furlong performer who progressed rapidly last season and has won both of his races in 2016. But has to turn around Haydock form with Twilight Son and genuinely soft ground might not be absolutely ideal. Rating: 8/10

Mattmu ridden by David Allan wins the coral.co.uk Rockingham Stakes at York Racecourse.

MATTMU (Form: 130-38)

Trainer: Tim Easterby. Jockey: David Allan

Beaten twice by Magical Memory this year and finished well behind Twilight Son towards the end of last season. Record on soft/heavy ground reads 221 so conditions could bring him into the equation for a place run. Rating: 6/10

SIGNS OF BLESSING (Form: 50-115)

Trainer: Francois Rohaut. Jockey: Olivier Peslier

French raider who should relish underfoot conditions and routed a Listed race field in March, but he has been beaten on better ground since and a previous visit to Ascot ended in a heavy defeat when the going was in his favour. Rating: 2/10

Mobsta (2L, yellow) Suedois
Image: Suedois (in red) has improved since joining David O'Meara

SUEDOIS (Form: 818-22)

Trainer: David O'Meara. Jockey: Daniel Tudhope

Personal best effort last time out when beaten less than a length by Magical Memory at York. Will handle the soft ground and could well turn that form around. Not a forlorn hope by any means for a top-class northern yard. Rating: 9/10

Tom Queally and The Tin Man win the Weatherby's Private Bank Leisure Stakes at Windsor.

THE TIN MAN (Form: 1814-1)

Trainer: James Fanshawe. Jockey: Tom Queally

Started the season with a Listed win at Windsor but that form has taken a few knocks since, and he looks to be held by Twilight Son on Champions Sprint running from the end of 2015. Rating: 6/10

TWILIGHT SON (Form: 1112-5)

Trainer: Henry Candy. Jockey: Ryan Moore

Beaten by Magical Memory on seasonal debut but that York race didn't really pan out for him as he raced away from the pace on ground that might have been a bit quick for him. Every chance of turning that form around and has a leading chance. Rating: 10/10

Frankie Dettori celebrates on Undrafted after winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes
Image: Dettori celebrates on Undrafted after winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes in 2015

UNDRAFTED (Form: 2125-1)

Trainer: Wesley Ward. Jockey: John Velasquez

Won this race 12 months ago under Frankie Dettori but that victory came on lightning fast ground which would suit him better than Saturday's conditions. Connections to be feared in this kind of race, but a repeat will be tough. Rating: 5/10

VERDICT:

An open race, considering the relatively small field size. Plenty of form lines tie the runners together but I get the feeling TWILIGHT SON will improve plenty from his York defeat and turn the tables on Magical Memory. Suedois might be the best of the outsiders while Magical Memory, closely matched with the selection, looks sure to run another sound race.
