Four-year-old ruled out of Goodwood with knee injury

Promising Lead has been ruled out of the Square Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday after suffering a setback. Following her victory in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh, Sir Michael Stoute's four-year-old had been classed as the ante-post favourite for Goodwood. However she injured her knee in the build up to the event and will now be aimed at the Yorkshire Oaks. "She just tweaked a knee after she worked so well on Saturday," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Prince Khalid Abdullah. "It doesn't look like it will keep her out for long, or that it is anything serious, but there is a little bit of heat there. "We have decided not to risk her and she will go straight to York for the Yorkshire Oaks now. "We hope Passage Of Time is a useful substitute and she showed last time that she is still capable."
