Huddersfield Giants' Will Pryce has been handed a 10-game suspension by the RFL for his sending off in Sunday's Betfred Super League defeat against Hull FC.
Pryce, the 19-year-old son of former Great Britain international Leon Pryce, was shown a red card 16 minutes from the end of the match for a dangerous tackle on Hull winger Connor Wynne.
The RFL's match review panel has referred him to a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening on a Grade F charge, the most serious available to them, with Pryce issued a 10-game ban and £500 fine.
Pryce had previously been found guilty of a dangerous throw during an Academy game against Bradford Bulls in May 2021.
Elsewhere, Wigan Warriors' Kaide Ellis was unsuccessful in his bid to reduce a five-match suspension imposed last week for throwing punches during his side's recent match at Catalans Dragons.
Giants head coach Ian Watson gave Pryce his backing post-match after Sunday's dismissal and believes the half-back will learn from the incident.
Speaking after the 14-6 loss, Watson said: "It's a big lesson for him to learn. The big thing is that he's devastated in the changing room. He knows he's messed up and what he's got to do now is lick his wounds, see what consequences come from those actions and learn from them.
"He's a good enough kid to learn and understand. You go through some bits of adversity as you go through your career and this is one that Will is going to have to face."
