Super League: Brad O'Neill named 2026's Man of Steel, Jenna Foubister is Woman of Steel in Wigan double scoop

Wigan Warriors swept the major categories as Brad O'Neill was crowned 2026 Super League Man of Steel and Jenna Foubister was named the Woman of Steel.

Wigan's men's head coach Matt Peet and women's head coach Denis Betts, meanwhile completed a great night for the club with both picking up Coach of the Year awards.

Combative hooker O'Neill had already claimed the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association (RLWBA) Player of the Year awards, having helped Wigan to the League Leaders' Shield, the Challenge Cup and came within 80 minutes of the Grand Final.

With his tough-tackling, pinpoint passing and impressive durability, the 24-year-old has developed into an integral part of Peet's side. He saw off Warriors team-mate Adam Keighran and Leeds Rhinos' Lachie Miller to take the crown.

Foubister also overcame a couple of Wigan team-mates in nominees Eva Hunter and Megan Williams to be named Woman of Steel.

St Helens' Harry Robertson was named Super League Young Player of the Year for the second year running, with Leeds' Connie Boyd winning the Women's Young Player of the Year award.

Halifax Panthers' Rob Hawkins was named 2026 Wheels of Steel winner.

When and where is the 2026 Super League Grand Final?

The Grand Final is taking place on Saturday October 3, 6pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports, with the 'Theatre of Dreams' Old Trafford once again the host venue for the blockbuster event.

Starting back in 1998, the Grand Final has always taken place at the home of Manchester United (barring 2020 at Hull), with 10 different teams having competed for the trophy... so far!

Now that becomes 11 as Wakefield join St Helens, Wigan Warriors, Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC, Catalans Dragons, Salford Red Devils, Castleford Tigers, Warrington Wolves, and Hull KR in experiencing walking out of the tunnel.

However, not all these teams have won it.

Indeed, only Wigan, Saints, Bradford, Leeds, and Hull KR have lifted the coveted trophy, with the rest of Super League daring to dream they can one day join that very small list.

We now know that one of Warrington and Wakefield will join those other five. Remarkably, it also marks the first ever Grand Final which has not included one of Wigan, Leeds, or St Helens.

The Super League Grand Final takes place at Old Trafford on Saturday October 3, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports+.
