Hull FC continued their preparations for the Super League season with a 60-20 derby thrashing of Hull KR at the KC Stadium.

The Airlie Birds ran in 10 tries and claimed local bragging rights as well as the Clive Sullivan Trophy, with four of their off-season signings scoring in front of a crowd of 8,962.

Jamie Shaul and Carlos Tuimavave ran in a couple of tries apiece, and there were also scores for Mahe Fonua, Scott Taylor, Mark Minichiello and Sika Manu from their starting 13 alone.

Substitute Steve Michaels and trialist Lee Smith, who returned to league late last season with Wakefield, also added tries, while Marc Sneyd was a perfect 10-for-10 on conversion attempts.

Rovers started the game strongly, with Josh Mantellato scoring the first try of the afternoon, but a penalty apart that would prove to be their only score until Kieran Dixon crossed for two late tries with the game long over as a contest.

Tom Briscoe, Ryan Hall and Mitch Achurch all scored tries for the Rhinos, and Rob Burrow's sublime dummy saw him cross before a late score for new signing Beau Falloon.
