Hull full-back Jamie Shaul has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Challenge Cup holders until the end of 2020.

The 24-year-old has become a key member of the Hull squad since making his debut in 2013, scoring the winning try against Warrington at Wembley and earning a place in the Super League Dream Team this year.

"I'm buzzing to sign for a further two years with the club," he said. "I've supported Hull all my life so when I had the chance to sign a new contract I jumped at it.

"I like to think I went well last year but I know I've got improvements in my game that I need to make if I'm to make the England squad, which is my ultimate aim."

Hull head coach Lee Radford has challenged the academy graduate, who has scored 45 tries in 74 Super League appearances, to prove he deserves the England full-back spot.

"We're really pleased to secure the services of Jamie for another two years," said Radford.

"For him it's about going to that next level and there's a space for him in the international team. What we have to do is match that consistency of his performances so he can push for international honours."
